LA Galaxy vs Portland Timbers

Across 36 MLS regular-season meetings, the Galaxy hold a 14-13-11 advantage over Portland, including a 10-5-5 record in Los Angeles. The teams played to a 1-1 draw in Portland earlier this season, with João Klauss scoring for LA. Entering Wednesday's matchup, the Galaxy sit three points ahead of the Timbers in the Western Conference standings, though Portland holds a game in hand as both sides continue their push toward the playoffs.

LA Galaxy Recent Results

Following the October international break, the Galaxy returned to MLS action on Sunday, falling to St. Louis CITY SC on the road. João Klauss continued his strong run of form, scoring for the third straight match and finding the net against his former club, while Robert Taylor added his second goal of the season for LA. Despite the result, the Galaxy remain firmly in the Western Conference playoff race entering a pivotal stretch of the campaign.

Prior to the match in St. Louis, LA had put together its strongest run of the season, collecting 10 points from five matches. The stretch included a 2-1 win over the New England Revolution, back-to-back 3-2 comeback victories against Minnesota United FC and the Colorado Rapids, and a 1-1 draw against Seattle Sounders FC as the Galaxy gained valuable ground in the Western Conference standings.
