LA Galaxy vs Austin FC

Earlier this season, the Galaxy earned a 2-1 road victory over Austin FC behind goals from Maya Yoshida and Erik Thommy. While the clubs split their two meetings in 2024 with the home side winning each match, Austin claimed victories in both matchups during the 2025 campaign. Despite several tightly contested meetings in recent years, the Galaxy hold a 6-4-1 advantage in the all-time series, including a 4-1-0 record at home while outscoring Austin 11-4 in Los Angeles. Notably, the last four meetings between the clubs have been decided by a single goal.

LA Galaxy Recent Results

Over the last five matches, the Galaxy have posted a 2-1-2 record, earning points in four of their last five contests. During that span, LA recorded wins over the Colorado Rapids and Portland Timbers, drew San Diego FC and LAFC, and suffered a road defeat to St. Louis CITY SC. Most recently, the Galaxy battled to a 2-2 draw against LAFC at BMO Stadium, with Joseph Paintsil netting a brace in the latest edition of El Tráfico.

Since the start of September, LA has compiled a 4-2-3 record, with its only defeats coming against the Vancouver Whitecaps and St. Louis CITY SC. The Galaxy have also shown resilience during that stretch, rallying from deficits to earn 3-2 victories over both the Colorado Rapids and Minnesota United FC, while recording a clean-sheet win against the Portland Timbers. With two matches remaining in the regular season, LA will look to carry that momentum into the final push for postseason positioning.

Standout Performances

With the regular season entering its final stretch, the Galaxy have received strong attacking contributions from across the roster. Joseph Paintsil is coming off a Team of the Matchday performance after scoring a brace in LA's 2-2 draw against LAFC, while João Klauss has found the back of the net on a consistent basis with four goals in his last six matches, bringing his season total to nine goals in just 15 appearances.

The Galaxy's recent form has also been reflected in MLS Team of the Matchday selections. LA has had a player named to the Team of the Matchday in each of the last three matchdays, with Paintsil (Matchday 32), Harbor Miller (Matchday 31) and Marco Reus (Matchday 30) all earning recognition. Reus has led the way throughout the season, collecting Team of the Matchday honors four times (Matchdays 10, 24, 27 and 30) while remaining a central figure in LA's attack with nine goal contributions in his last eight matches.
