LOS ANGELES (November 6, 2026) – The LA Galaxy are set to conclude the MLS regular season on Saturday, November 7 against Real Salt Lake at America First Field in Sandy, Utah (4 p.m. PT, Apple TV). With one match remaining, the Galaxy occupy seventh place in the Western Conference standings on 44 points, holding a two-point advantage over 11th-place Real Salt Lake as both clubs pursue postseason positioning.

Playoff Clinching Scenarios

The Galaxy can finish no higher than seventh place in the Western Conference and control their own playoff destiny entering Decision Day. A win at Real Salt Lake would secure a postseason berth and a matchup with the conference's second-place finisher, currently FC Dallas, in the Round One Best-of-3 Series.

A draw could also be enough for LA to advance if at least one of Portland, Colorado or Seattle drops points on the final day. If the Galaxy fall to Real Salt Lake, they would need help elsewhere around the Western Conference to reach the playoffs. Should teams finish level on points, total wins serve as the first tiebreaker, followed by goal differential.

LA Galaxy vs Real Salt Lake

The Galaxy enter Saturday's match having won three of their last five meetings against Real Salt Lake, including a 2-1 victory earlier this season. In that April matchup, Marco Reus scored both goals for LA, converting an 85th-minute penalty to secure all three points. The clubs split their two meetings in 2025, with the Galaxy responding to a road defeat with a 2-0 win at Dignity Health Sports Park behind goals from Lucas Sanabria and Joseph Paintsil.

Saturday's contest features a pair of notable connections between the two sides. Pablo Ruiz is set to face Real Salt Lake for the first time since joining the Galaxy during the 2026 summer transfer window, while brothers Lucas Sanabria and Juan Manuel Sanabria will line up on opposite sides. Overall, LA holds a 23-18-13 advantage in the all-time regular-season series between the clubs.

Recent Results

Over the last five matches, the Galaxy have posted a 2-1-2 record, earning points in four of their five October contests. During that stretch, LA registered wins over the Portland Timbers and Austin FC, draws against San Diego FC and LAFC, and a road loss to St. Louis CITY SC. Most recently, the Galaxy delivered one of their strongest performances of the season with a 4-1 victory over Austin.

The result continued a strong run of form for LA, which has compiled 18 points on a 5-2-3 record across its last 10 matches. During that span, the Galaxy overcame deficits to defeat Colorado Rapids and Minnesota United FC, recorded a clean-sheet victory against the Portland Timbers, and tied a season high with four goals scored in a 4-1 win over Austin FC.

Standout Performances

The Galaxy's recent run of form has coincided with attacking contributions from throughout the roster. João Klauss has tallied five goals and an assist over his last seven matches, reaching double-digit league goals with his strike against Austin FC. Marco Reus continues to lead LA's attack with 12 goal contributions in his last nine appearances, highlighted by a season-high three assists against Austin and his sixth MLS Team of the Matchday selection of the season. Meanwhile, Robert Taylor has contributed six goal contributions (two goals, four assists) across the club's last seven matches.

Hirving Lozano marked his return from an injury suffered on international duty with the game-winning goal against Austin, while Sergi Roberto recorded his first goal for the Galaxy and added an assist as his midfield partnership with Pablo Ruiz continues to develop. Homegrown defender Harbor Miller registered the first multi-contribution performance of his MLS career with two assists against Austin, earning a place on the MLS Team of the Matchday bench.
