LOS ANGELES (September 4, 2026) – The LA Galaxy will host Eastern Conference side New England Revolution on Saturday, September 5 at 6:30 p.m. PT as part of the Walmart Saturday Showdown on Apple TV.
Saturday’s match marks the 8th Annual Central American Heritage Night at Dignity Health Sports Park. The sold-out Central American Heritage Ticket Pack, which includes a commemorative scarf, also supports AFJA (Academia de Fútbol Juvenil Amatense), a nonprofit organization that provides youth soccer opportunities in underserved communities across Southern California and Central America. The celebration will feature live entertainment from Roy Da Drumma in Garden Plaza, as well as a Ballet Folklórico dance performance, Maya Ball display and a "Yo Amo Centroamérica" photo opportunity at SoccerFest.
New England Revolution
The Galaxy hold a 20-17-7 all-time regular-season record against New England and defeated the Revolution in MLS Cup 2002, MLS Cup 2005, and MLS Cup 2014. The clubs have not met since 2022 and have played a series of tightly contested matches in recent years. Dating back to 2016, the Galaxy own a 3-2 record against the Revolution, outscoring New England 13-11 during that span. Since LA's 4-2 victory over New England in 2016, each of the following four meetings has been decided by just one goal, with the teams alternating wins and losses. In the most recent meeting, a 2-1 Galaxy win at Gillette Stadium in 2022, goals from Daniel Aguirre and Javier "Chicharito" Hernández secured all three points for LA.
Saturday's match will also see the return of former Galaxy midfielder Diego Fagúndez. The Uruguayan spent the first nine seasons of his MLS career with New England before stints with Austin FC and the LA Galaxy, where he helped the club capture the 2024 MLS Cup title, before returning to the Revolution at the start of the 2026 season. In 2025, Fagúndez was named the LA Galaxy’s Player of the Season after becoming just the eighth player in MLS history to record 75 goals and 75 assists in regular-season play.
LA Galaxy Recent Results
Through their last five games, the Galaxy posted a 1-2-2 record in league play, including a 10-man Cali Clasico victory over San Jose on August 19 and a 2-2 road draw against CF Montréal on August 22. Most recently, Designated Player signing Hirving "Chucky" Lozano scored his first goal for the club in LA's road loss to San Diego on August 31.
The Galaxy have been active during the summer transfer window, reshaping their roster for the stretch run of the season. Along with the arrivals of Kyōgo Furuhashi, Hirving Lozano, Robert Taylor and Sergi Roberto, LA acquired midfielder Pablo Ruiz from Real Salt Lake and welcomed back 2023 Club Defender of the Year Lucas Calegari. The Galaxy will also look to reintegrate Designated Player forward João Klauss as he returns from injury. With several new faces settling into the squad, LA will aim to build momentum heading into the final months of the regular season.
