LOS ANGELES (October 10, 2026) – Following a two-week international break, the LA Galaxy resume MLS play on Sunday, October 11, against St. Louis CITY SC at 4 p.m. PT on Apple TV (Sunday Night Soccer) from Energizer Park. With just six matches remaining in the regular season, the Galaxy will look to pick up valuable points on the road as they enter a demanding stretch that includes three matches over the next seven days.
LA Galaxy vs St. Louis CITY SC
Sunday's match will be the eighth all-time meeting between the Galaxy and St. Louis CITY SC with LA seeking their first win in the series (0-3-4). In 2025, St. Louis earned a 3-0 victory in Missouri on March 9 before the clubs played to a 3-3 draw at Dignity Health Sports Park on June 14. Earlier this season, St. Louis claimed a 3-1 victory on July 26, with Troy Elgersma scoring his first MLS goal for the Galaxy. Sunday's contest will also mark João Klauss' first appearance against St. Louis since joining the Galaxy in February. The Brazilian missed the July meeting between the sides due to injury after spending the first three seasons of his MLS career with St. Louis, where he totaled 35 goal contributions in 79 regular-season appearances. Since arriving in Los Angeles, Klauss has recorded seven goals in 11 league appearances, including goals in consecutive matches in September.
LA Galaxy Recent Results
Over the international break, the Galaxy hosted Liga MX side Cruz Azul in a club friendly. While the match ended in a 2-1 defeat, it provided valuable minutes for the squad and allowed Designated Player Joseph Paintsil to make his return to action. The Ghanaian forward made an immediate impact, scoring in a second-half appearance ahead of the resumption of MLS play.
Prior to the break, the Galaxy had their most successful month of the season, collecting 10 points from five matches in September. The club won three of its five matches and earned points in four, highlighted by a 2-1 victory over the New England Revolution and back-to-back 3-2 comeback wins over Minnesota United FC and the Colorado Rapids. A 1-1 draw against the Seattle Sounders FC further added to the Galaxy's point total as LA continued its push toward the postseason.Â
Defender Justin Haak was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday following his performance against Colorado, while Marco Reus earned Team of the Matchday honors three times in September. Reus has been central to the Galaxy's playoff push, recording five goal contributions (three goals, two assists) across the club's last four league matches. He leads LA with 16 goal contributions this season (seven goals, nine assists). The Galaxy also received an immediate boost from the return of Designated Player João Klauss, who has scored twice in his first three appearances after returning from injury.
