Sergeant Major Lloyd H. Crabtree assumed his current duties as the Inspector-Instructor Command Senior Enlisted Leader for 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marines in March 2026.
A native of Lakeport, California, Sergeant Major Crabtree enlisted in the Marine Corps in February 2003 and earned the Military Occupational Specialty of 1371, Combat Engineer, after completing training at Marine Corps Engineer School, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
Throughout his career, he has served with 9th Engineer Support Battalion, Marine Wing Support Squardon-272, The Basic School, 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, , Marine Wing Support Squadron -274, Marine Corps Engineer School, Combat Logistics Battalion 13, 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, and 1st Intelligence Battalion, holding leadership positions ranging from Team Leader and Platoon Sergeant to Engineer Chief and Unit Senior Enlisted Leader.
His deployments include Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, as well as deployments supporting the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.
His personal decorations include two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and two Combat Action Ribbons.
