Staff Sergeant Melvin Valencia is a proud Guatemalan American and dedicated United States Army Soldier with nearly a decade of service. He enlisted in 2017 as an Infantryman before transitioning into Army Recruiting, where he has served Soldiers, future Soldiers, and communities across Texas and Southern California.
Throughout his career, he has earned numerous honors, including the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, and the prestigious Gold Recruiter Badge. He currently serves as Station Commander in El Monte, California, leading a team of recruiters and building strong partnerships with local schools and community organizations.
A lifelong soccer enthusiast, Staff Sergeant Valencia is honored to be recognized during LA Galaxy's Central American Heritage Night. He proudly celebrates his Guatemalan heritage, represents the Guatemalan American community, and recognizes the Soldiers he is privileged to lead and serve.
