LOS ANGELES (October 15, 2026) – MLS announced today that LA Galaxy midfielder Marco Reus has been named to the Team of the Matchday for Matchday 30 following his multi-contribution performance in the club’s 2-0 victory over Portland Timbers at Dignity Health Sports Park last night, Reus’ fourth such honor in the last seven match days.
Reus kicked things off for the Galaxy last night, continuing his stellar run of form with a goal in the 17th minute. Following a long diagonal ball from Pablo Ruiz over the Timbers’ back line, Robert Taylor brought the ball down and squared it across the box to Reus, who timed his run perfectly to smash the ball into the back of the net. Then to put the game away late in the second half, Reus set-piece delivery from just outside the box on the right side found Justin Haak for the headed finish to extend the Galaxy’s lead in the 80th minute and secure three crucial points for the Galaxy with four matches left to play.
The German international has now registered an impressive eight goal contributions in his last seven matches, including in back-to-back games so far this week. Reus’s opening score was his eighth goal of the season, ninth in all competitions, and the midfield maestro has now been involved in 19 of LA’s 41 league goals so far this season (46.3%). In addition, the performance was Reus’ fifth multi-contribution match of the season in all competitions, and third of the past month. Notably, Reus has contributed to a team-high 21 goals in all competitions so far this season (nine goals, 12 assists), his most productive campaign as a member of the Galaxy since joining the club in late 2024.
