LOS ANGELES (October 2, 2026) – The LA Galaxy announced today that the club has signed goalkeeper Sebastian Conlon, forward Daniel Ittycheria, and Academy products Jose "Pepe" Magaña, Brett Phan and Mason Vanney to Short-Term Agreements from MLS NEXT Pro affiliate Ventura County FC (VCFC) ahead of the club’s friendly against Liga MX side and 2026 Campeones Cup runners-up Cruz Azul at Dignity Health Sports Park on Sunday, October 4. Phan and Vanney receive their fourth and final call-ups, while Conlon and Magaña each receive their third. Ittycheria earns his first Short-Term Agreement of the campaign.
Conlon, 23, was selected by the LA Galaxy with the 65th overall pick in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft and has recorded seven clean sheets in 25 appearances for Ventura County FC. Prior to his professional career, Conlon played at the University of Kentucky after transferring from James Madison University, earning back-to-back Sun Belt Goalkeeper of the Year honors and All-Sun Belt First Team recognition in 2024 and 2025.
Ittycheria, 22, earns his debut call up to the Galaxy first team just over a month after joining Ventura County FC from Vancouver Whitecaps 2, where he started the 2026 campaign. With Whitecaps 2 this season, the forward recorded nine goals and three assists in 21 appearances (19 starts) before making the move to LA. Prior to the start of his professional career, Ittycheria enjoyed a successful four-year collegiate career at Princeton University, where he scored 28 goals and added eight assists in 64 total appearances from 2022-2025. Ittycheria was selected 40th overall in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft by D.C. United before returning for his final year with the Tigers and was named the 2025 Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year in addition to earning his second First Team All-Ivy League honor.
Magaña, 19, joined the LA Galaxy Academy in 2021 and has continued to progress through the club’s development pathway. The Long Beach native played a key role in leading the LA Galaxy U-17's to the 2024 MLS NEXT Cup Championship, scoring the game-winning goal in the final enroute to being named the 2024 MLS NEXT Cup MVP. In addition, he was selected to represent the Galaxy at the 2024 MLS NEXT All-Star game. Magaña has appeared in 59 matches in all competitions for VCFC since 2024. Notably, he added the first two goals of his professional career this season, scoring in a 2-0 win over Real Monarchs in April before claiming his second in a 3-1 win over Quakes II in early September.
Phan, 18, joined the LA Galaxy Academy at the age of nine in 2018 and has since risen through the club’s professional development pathway, becoming a two-time MLS NEXT Cup champion. Phan has played over 1,100 minutes across 19 appearances for Ventura County FC this season, who finished third in the MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference. He recorded his first professional assist against Portland Timbers 2 earlier this season on May 10. Notably, Phan received a call-up to the U.S. U-16 Youth Men’s National Team camp in 2023.
Vanney, 18, is a three-time MLS NEXT Cup champion who joined the LA Galaxy Academy in 2022 and has steadily progressed through the club’s player development pathway. Since making his debut for Ventura County FC in September 2025, Vanney has recorded two goals and four assists in 33 appearances (31 starts) across all competitions. Last month, Vanney aided VCFC in its playoff push with a goal and an assist in back-to-back games against LAFC 2 and Quakes II.
Per MLS rules, a club may sign a player, age 25 or younger, during the league season from its MLS NEXT Pro affiliate to a maximum of four Short-Term Agreements (up to four-day contracts) each season (maximum of 16 days). An individual player may be included on up to four MLS league season match rosters each season; however, that player may appear in no more than two MLS league season matches. An individual player may also appear in any number of non-league games during the terms of his four Short-Term Agreements.
