LA Galaxy II midfielder Andre Auras and defender Lee Nishanian were named to the USL Team of the Week for the 17th week of the regular season on Tuesday afternoon.
Auras was selected to the squad after tallying his third goal of the season on a beautiful curling free kick that helped Galaxy II earn a 3-0 victory over Sacramento Republic last week. The victory helped Los Dos' spoil Republic FC's farewell for departing head coach Preki who left the team to pursue his career in the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, Nishanian also earned a Team of the Week nod for helping organize a Galaxy II back four that conceded just three shots against the reigning USL champions. The Rancho Cucamonga, California native has five appearances in 2015 for a Galaxy II defense that has kept six clean sheets on the year.
Joining Auras and Nishanian on the Team of the Week's "bench" is forward Ariel Lassiter who scored a goal in the win over Sacramento Republic. Lassiter currently leads Los Dos in goals scored with eight tallies on the season.
