CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015) – LA Galaxy forward Giovani dos Santos will appear on Univision's TeletonUSA on Saturday, Dec. 5. Dos Santos is scheduled to appear as part of the annual fundraiser benefitting sick, disabled and mentally-challenged children in the US’ Hispanic communities. Dos Santos will appear from Los Angeles from 6:00-8:30 p.m. PT, with the Galaxy forward set to go live on-air at 6:45 p.m. PT.
Modeled after Teletón, a Mexican TV and radio broadcast dedicated to improving the quality of life for sick children, TeletónUSA was founded in 2012. The fourth-annual marathon fundraiser will be broadcast live on Univision non-stop for 30 hours, running from 6:00 pm P.T. on Friday, Dec. 4 to 12:00 a.m. PT on Sunday, Dec. 6.
The annual marathon broadcast features performances from major Latin stars, with artists including Becky G, J Balvin, Wisin, Luis Coronel and Leslie Grace set to perform this year. The fundraiser will be hosted by beloved TV personality and Teletón founder Don Francisco, who will be making his return to the airwaves since his legendary variety show, “Sábado Gigante,” ended in September.

Dos Santos signed with the LA Galaxy on July 15, 2015 from Villarreal CF in La Liga BBVA, Spain’s top-flight professional division, where he spent two seasons from 2013-14. Internationally, Dos Santos is one of Mexico’s most accomplished players, earning his first cap with the national team in 2006 and winning the 2005 U-17 World Cup, 2009 Gold Cup, 2011 Gold Cup, 2015 Gold Cup and the 2012 London Olympics Gold Medal. Additionally, he has experience playing in UEFA Champions League, the FIFA World Cup, CONCACAF Gold Cup and the Olympics, among other competitions. Dos Santos is a product of Barcelona’s “La Masia” Academy, making his first professional appearance for FC Barcelona in 2006. In 13 appearances across all competitions for the LA Galaxy this year, Dos Santos recorded four goals and eight assists.
