Galaxy-TV to have 2.6x increase in resolution, making viewing experience bigger and brighter than ever before

Dignity Health Sports Park’s main video board atop the grass berm on the North side of the stadium has been upgraded ahead of the 2026 LA Galaxy season.

Fans will see a different layout on the video board for the first time in eight years. The addition of an 8mm pixel pitch, up from 13mm, is the first of its kind in Major League Soccer, and will increase the clarity, brightness, and resolution of the video board. With 6.5 million native pixels, a 2.5x increase, the resolution will be 158% (2.6x) greater than previously.

While the size of the board remains the same: 36 feet high by 128.5 feet wide, the match window on the video board will increase from a 16x9 aspect ratio to 20x9 (25% increase). New in-game stats from Sportec are also among the changes to the fan experience with the main video board. The LA Galaxy plan to roll out the stats over time, incorporating advanced player tracking data for fans at DHSP.

The retrofitting of the north end video board during the Galaxy’s offseason also helped DHSP avoid putting 27,000 pounds of aluminum waste back into the environment by replacing the board’s pixels rather than tearing down the board and rebuilding one.

The field boards along the sides of the pitch at DHSP will also be new this season. With a brightness rating of 10,000 nits, they are the brightest field-level LED sports displays currently available.

The new video board and field boards were first in action for the United States Women’s National Team friendly against Paraguay on January 24 but will be in full effect for the Galaxy’s 2026 home opener against New York City FC.
