LA Galaxy forward Christian Ramirez was inducted into Westminster, California’s La Quinta High School’s Hall of Fame on November 6.
A 2009 graduate, Ramirez was an All-American soccer player before going to University of California, Santa Barbara and Concordia University Irvine, scoring 41 goals in 42 appearances for the latter. La Quinta High School inducts former student-athletes into the Hall of Fame every November if they meet the criteria of being an All-American in college, the professional ranks, or make it to the Olympics.
“When Christian was here, he was an unbelievably electric scorer. He could just light it up,” said Cork Snider, La Quinta High School Hall of Fame Committee Member. “He had an incredible personality and was very well liked by the teachers and the kids. He was about everything you would wish for in a student athlete around here.”
“This is special to my family, my kids who are here,” Ramirez said in a speech to attendees at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the school’s gymnasium. “To the students, I’ll keep it short: stay curious, stay kind, willing to learn even when things are uncertain. Life isn’t about having it all figured out; it’s about being brave enough to keep it going. You don’t need to know your entire path right now because most adults don’t know either. So be kind to yourself through life and be kind to your neighbor.”
Following his collegiate career, Ramirez went on to play professionally in USL PRO before moving to Minnesota United FC in the NASL. He became Minnesota’s first-ever player and first goal-scorer in MLS when the club became an expansion team in 2017.
His career has seen him compete in MLS for five clubs, winning one MLS Cup and Leagues Cup title with Columbus Crew, as well as play for Aberdeen FC in Scotland’s Premiership. Ramirez signed for the Galaxy ahead of the 2025 MLS season. Ramirez has scored one goal (two caps) for the United States Men’s National Team in January 2019 against Panama during his international debut.
In his first season for the Galaxy, Ramirez scored four goals and added one assist in MLS Regular Season play. His contract was extended and is guaranteed through 2026.
